Payroll Accreditation & what's next

We have confirmed today that v3.5.0 of Uniwage Payroll has been awarded the HMRC Payroll Standard for another year, for the 4th consecutive year. Each year the Standard is improved and updated hence the delay in attaining the accreditation - but you can rest assured that Uniwage has again achieved every step required in order to secure the standard.

For those who aren't really sure of what the Payroll Standard means, it essentially ensures that payroll software meets HMRC's Quality Standard guidelines with regards to data input; it ensures that complex payroll calculations are performed correctly, to the penny; and also requires that the End of Year Internet Filing for the forthcoming tax year end is accredited separately. More details can be found at the HMRC website.

HMRC have only recently released the recognition documents required for Expenses & Benefits 2005/06, and we are currently working through those now to ensure the recognition for P11Ds are maintaned.

With v3.5 already released, development is now focused on version 3.6 of the HR Unity range. Some of the features you will find in v3.6 include:
  • Improved New Employee Wizard
  • Statutory Holidays are now grouped by Holiday Scheme instead of Company for more flexibility
  • Sickness checks, so that an absence entry can generate a self-certification form or warn that a doctor's note is required
  • Quick Calculation on payroll input, so that an immediate update of the gross and net pay is visible when an employee's inputs are changed
  • Pre-calculation checks before a payroll calculation
  • Improved speed and searching in Recruitment
  • Improved payroll pro-rata calculations for salary changes, before and after the effective date

Details of the expected release time of v3.6 will be given here as soon as they are confirmed.
