Update on current development

As I said previously, the development team met last week to discuss officially what was going to make it into the final release of version 3.4.0.

I mentioned before that the training section of Unistaff personnel had been removed from the main personnel application (although you still get to it from the same place). We are about to embark on a massive series of additions to the training module and it is this that will take up almost 3/4 of the development time.

This is not to say that our focus is totally on training. There is a long list of new features that have been asked for by customers and we are trying to get as many of them in as we can in this development cycle.

I can't go into them all here but a few new things that you will see are a new global Unistaff diary that will sit alongside your own user diary. In fact, it will no longer be a Unistaff-only diary as this feature is being moved up from the personnel product so that it is global to the entire HR Unity suite.

We have been listening to your requests and there are plenty more to go into the package. A lot of people, for example, have asked for a notes facility to be available against all employees, this will be added in v3.4 across all 3 applications.

The goal is that we release v3.4 at the User Group Meeting that has been scheduled for Thursday 22nd September 2005.
