The last fully released version of the HR Unity software was v3.5.0 which was released in February, principally in time for the new tax year.
Previous blog entries discussed v3.6 which contained a series of new features but was not automatically rolled out to customers. The February posting
Payroll Accreditation & what's next outlined what was added. Anyone who is intetested in having a copy of v3.6 should contact Carval HR Support (0870 787 3256).
In the mean-time, v3.4.0 of the self-service web software was released. This was the initial release of the completely rewritten browser-based software; not only were all the existing features brought across to the new development but stacks of new features were added too (including recruitment, time recording and training). Again, this is available to any customers who wish to upgrade from their existing self-service software or wish to purchase this module.
So now, development proceeds with v3.7.0 of the Windows HR Unity software and v3.5.0 of the Self-Service software. Features currently being worked on include:
Windows
- Company sick pay schemes now handle non-payment and penalty payments to employees on probation
- Appraisal marks now fully editable
Self-Service
- On-line entry of absences
- Shift changes (T&A)
- Manager substitutions
- Training enhancements
- Retrieve archive P60 forms (payroll)
v3.7.0 of the Windows software is essentially a maintenance release and should be released within the coming months. However, on the Windows side work is also being concentrated on support for multiple posts, i.e. employees working more than one job for the company.
This isn't due for several months because the multiple posts development affects the payroll calculation significantly, as there are many HMRC rules governing how National Insurance is paid in these circumstances.
Further to that, the database structure will need a thorough redesign to accomodate multi-posts which will impact on every area of the software, inevitably including any custom reports you may have written. More will be discussed about that when the database resdesign has been finalised. This will be such a major release that it will be released as v4.0.
