Utility # 1 - Presence Display Board

This is the first in a new (irregular) series that will highlight some of the utilities that come on the HR Unity software CD that you might not know about. These utilities are written by us to complement the main payroll, HR or T&A software package you purchased.

Seeing as there has been a lot of focus on payroll recently, we'll switch to Unitend Time & Attendance. We have developed a utility called the Presence Display Board, which is designed to be an automated version of those boards many companies use to show who is in and out of the office.

As employees clock in and out of the system, the polling program that records the clockings also sends out a message with the badge number across the network, looking for the Presence Display Board. If the display board utility is running, it will instantly update that employees In/Out status.

The selection of employees to be shown is per company and can be narrowed down by department and also down to individual employees. Sort order can be by personnel number or surname. When there are more employees than will fit on one screen, the display board will cycle through as many pages as necessary to display everyone.

Although the screenshot shows the board running in a normal window, it can be fully maximized to fill the entire screen, showing more detail.
