It's been over a month since the last entry, but this isn't because there is nothing to write about. On the contrary, there's been too much going on to get the time to update the blog. Time to update you.
The current version of the HR Unity on release is v3.7.1 which is essentially a maintenance release of v3.7.0 with some nice enhancements to the training module.
Development of the Windows product is now on-hold for a couple of months while a massive restructuring takes place of the underlying database. This is a decision we have not taken lightly, but the current structure doesn't allow for the flexibility we need for some of the features we want to add to the product.
The knock-on effect of changing the database structure, of course, is that all of the software needs to be updated to take into account these new changes. As well as the software, all the reports (standard and user-defined), plug-ins and other utilities will also have to be updated. This will become v4.0.0.
The end result to you will be no different. The software will behave in exactly the same way it did before. But it then gives us a stronger foothold from which to enhance the HR Unity suite with some really powerful features, principally including the "multi-post" support that has been mentioned in earlier entries.
At some point you will be contacted to discuss updating your reports written using our in-built report designer, as we will need to make sure these are updated to the new database layout. Please bear with us during this big development phase, I assure you it is all for the good of your system.
