Those of you that use our Unitend Time and Attendance package will know that we support both Feedback Data and Custom Micro terminals. In addition to T&A, we also have an Access Control package which, up until now, has worked only for the Feedback Access Control terminals.
We have now developed the Access Control software so that it works with Custom Micro terminals as well.
On the subject of clocking terminals, some of you may be aware that Feedback Data have launched a new range of IP Terminals which are incompatible with all previous terminals in terms of picking up clockings and making enquiries. Several members of Carval, including myself, went to the Feedback's reseller forum last month which was heavily geared around these new terminals and how they work.
However, there is no software ready yet that allows us to control the terminals from our own software. Presently it is limited only to a utility that is provided by Feedback that puts the data into its own SQL Server database, which the data should then be extracted from. We are in consultation with Feedback over the availability of some communications software so that we can add the IP Terminals to our range of supported hardware. There is no immediate timescale for when this will be available.
By the way, Carval Computing Cricket Club's 2nd match of the season was postponed last night due to a waterlogged pitch. The first match was lost by a few runs in the last over.
